Creating a portfolio and blog

Before AI, creating and maintaining a personalized blog, the way I wanted it, seemed impossible. My background has always been infrastructure, so learning to program for it felt distant too.

After AI took off, so many tools, updates, and features started appearing that it became easy to get lost in the middle of it and lose the practice of building something simple and keeping it online.

This is my first attempt at showing some of my work and what I have built.

The idea was to have a simple portfolio that I could maintain without turning it into another large project full of features and updates.

From the beginning, I limited the project’s purpose to:

  1. present my professional profile,
  2. highlight a few concrete projects,
  3. create and publish posts without building my own CMS, writing everything in Markdown files.

At first, I had doubts about several options, but I ended up choosing:

  • Astro as the frontend framework
  • Cloudflare Pages for hosting
  • GitHub Actions for build and deployment
  • Terraform as infrastructure as code, controlling the project, domain, and DNS

It was not a project made all at once or with a single tool either. At different moments, I used Antigravity, Claude Code, and Codex as support to research, discuss choices, implement changes, and review the result. This also made it possible to return to an earlier point of context without rebuilding every decision from scratch.

AI reduced the friction between an idea and a concrete change, but it does not replace responsibility for the project. I defined the scope, chose what belonged in it, reviewed the changes, and validated the result before keeping each one. The work continued across tools, but the decisions and publication remained mine.

From build to public site GitHub Actions runs Astro's static build and publishes the site to Cloudflare Pages. Terraform configures the Cloudflare Pages project, domain, and DNS. PUBLISHES CONFIGURES Astro GitHub Actions builds and deploys Cloudflare Pages hosts the portfolio Terraform configures project, domain, and DNS
The publishing flow and infrastructure path I chose for this portfolio.

With the site online, the work is focused on the content I want to write and publish.
